Thomas Sanders is a multi-talented creator who is most famous for his content on the platforms YouTube and Vine (RIP). He is a singer, script-writer and actor by trade. Thomas was born in Florida in 1989.

Thomas began performing whilst at school. In middle school he would perform as part of school choirs and appear in school plays. As he got older he appeared in more musical theatre. He took this love of performing with him to university where he joined a local amateur theatre group whilst studying for his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. After graduating, Thomas continued performing. In April 2013, he made his first post on Vine and the rest, as they say, is history.

By October 2013, Thomas had over 1 million followers on Vine, a combination of comedy and musical content getting him this far, including a brilliant impression of Stewie Griffin (Family Guy). Thomas created many mini-series in his time on Vine. By far the most popular was “Storytime”. In these videos Thomas would approach strangers and narrate their average activities, often with a slightly outrageous twist, capturing their reactions on camera.

In 2009, Thomas launched a Youtube Channel, which he began posting far more frequently as his content grew traction on Vine. Here he would upload longer skits and covers of songs as well as collaborations with other artists like Jon Cozart and Dodie. In 2017, Vine would be shut down. At this point, Thomas had made his online presence into a career, even embarking on a national tour (USA) entitled “Ultimate Storytime”. This was an all-singing, all-dancing performance extravaganza based on Thomas’s famous Vine series.

Thomas had already inspired so many at this point in his career, but inspired that many more when he came out as gay in 2017. Many fans related to him a to more and the confidence shift was evident in the content that came out following that video. It also allowed Thomas to speak about his experiences as a gay man and offer even more advice and support to those that need it.

Now Thomas has well over 3 million subscribers on YouTube. He regularly posts longer videos on his channel as well as the occasional shorter video on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter. Not only does Thomas release beautiful music, he supports others and stands up for what is right and that is why he is my artist of the week.
