McFly are a British boyband featuring Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Harry Judd. Each of the lads plays an instrument and Tom, Dougie and Danny also sing (Harry can sing but rarely does).

The band formed in 2003 and were quickly signed to Island records before releasing their first single, “5 Colours in Her Hair” in 2004. They were signed to this label until 2007, in which time they released 14 singles, seven of which peaked at number one, and five albums (two albums were compilation albums). It was in 2007 when they formed their own record label, Super Records.

Under their own label they released a further three albums (one compilation) and ten singles. This brings us up to 2012, when the band when on a short hiatus before joining forces with Busted, one of the other biggest bands in the 2000s era for music.

In this time they went on many tours and are often highly praised on the sheer quality of their live performances, many of which can be viewed on YouTube now, including their most recent live performances, one on Britain’s Got Talent and the other live on BBC Radio 2.

McFly and Busted toured together from 2013 until 2015 under the name McBusted. They also released an album, which reached number nine, and a single, which reached number 12 in the charts.

After this, McFly went quiet for a while but over the last 12 months they have made their break back into the music scene. Announcing a sell-out reunion tour as well as a brand new studio album (“Young Dumb Thrills” release date November 13th 2020) and single, “Happiness” which was released July 30th.
